Heels — your questions, answered

Do I need to wear actual heels to do heels dance?

No. Most women start barefoot for the first 2–4 weeks to learn body lines and balance. Heels are added once the carriage is solid.

What size heel should I start with?

Block heels under 3 inches (7 cm). Stilettos come much later, if at all. Comfort and stability win over height.

Is heels dance a good workout?

Yes — heels work glutes, hamstrings, calves, deep core and posture muscles. It's strength training disguised as choreography.

I'm not flexible — can I still do heels?

Yes. Heels rewards control more than flexibility. The slow tempo and held positions actually build mobility over weeks.
