Recording video lessons
Before you start, DM us a photo of the location and your outfit. Quality is everything — video, light, sound, music and your styling all matter.
Shot composition
- Good light. Use proper lighting equipment or shoot in bright daylight near a window.
- Clean space. Remove anything distracting from the frame — especially when filming at home.
- Stay in frame. Make sure your hands, feet and head are never cropped. Check the framing before every take.
Format and quality
- Strictly horizontal (landscape) video — no vertical clips.
- 4K resolution at 60 fps for crisp picture and smooth motion.
- Record original footage only — no clips with social-media watermarks.
Your look on camera
- Dress well, look fresh — clean hair, neat outfit.
- Ideally wear Everdance-branded apparel.
- Dress on-brand for the dance style you're teaching.
Music
- Use license-free music only. We give every instructor access to EpidemicSound — write to us to get your invite.
- Lay the music on top of your voice-over in post.
Workout length
- A training session should be at least 10 minutes long.
- The exact duration depends on the workout type — 10–15 minutes is a solid baseline.
Intro and outro (required)
Every workout must include both blocks.
Intro (before the training session)
- Greet the student.
- Explain what kind of training this is and what goals it solves.
- Give any instructions students need before they start.
Outro (after the training session)
- Make it emotional — praise the student for finishing.
- Share your thoughts about the session.
- Motivate them to keep training with you.
Gear
- Camera or phone capable of 4K 60 fps.
- Tripod or stable surface — camera at chest / waist height, full body in frame, horizontal.
- External or lavalier mic for clean voice-over.
Send for approval
Once your class is ready, send it to us for review. We'll check composition, audio, lighting and structure, and come back with feedback or publish it to the app.
